Community Support Volunteers

Cranford Hospice community support volunteers provide emotional support to our patients, their caregivers and family/whānau.

Our volunteers are person centred and provide a listening, non-judgemental ear in a safe and confidential space.

Volunteers may visit or call a person for approximately one hour per week or fortnight and then type up and send a brief report to the volunteer coordinator.

Volunteers may help to support one person or may support 2-4 people, depending on their availability.

Volunteers undergo full training for their role and ongoing support is provided by the volunteer coordinator, supervision meetings and the family support team.

Driver licence is required.
