Eleanor McEwen

Secretary

Kia ora koutou,

I'm Eleanor McEwen, a young professional working in Tax & Legal Services at PwC in Napier, where I support private businesses and organisations with their financial, tax and business advisory needs.

I am new to Hawkes Bay but I'm passionate about contributing to the region and supporting initiatives that strengthen local communities.

Alongside my professional work, I'm actively developing my governance knowledge through PwC's On Board programme. I'm particularly interested in how effective governance, financial stewardship and diverse perspectives can help community organisations achieve long-term success.

I'm actively involved in community initiatives through my role as a PwC Foundation representative, helping coordinate volunteering opportunities, fundraising and partnerships with local charities. I'm also involved in Napier Next gen Committee, providing opportunities for young people to connect in Hawkes Bay.

I'm drawn to Volunteering Hawke's Bay because I believe volunteering plays an important role in building connected, resilient communities. I'm particularly passionate about encouraging more young people to get involved and helping make volunteering accessible, meaningful and rewarding for everyone.

I believe everyone has something valuable to contribute, and that giving our time and skills is one of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen our communities.
