Liz joined Volunteering Hawke’s Bay as Manager in June 2026. She brings over 20 years’ experience across the public sector, with a strong focus on community development, safety, and inclusion. Before joining VHB, Liz worked at Hastings District Council as the Welcoming Communities Coordinator, and previously at Napier City Council as the Safer Napier Coordinator.
Liz holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Canterbury and completed an honours year in Resource and Environmental Planning at the University of Waikato. She is passionate about bringing people together to achieve positive outcomes and has a strong commitment to fostering volunteering and community connection across Hawke’s Bay.
Based in Heretaunga/Hastings, Liz lives with her husband and two teenage children. She volunteers with Hastings Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and has been a member of the Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) Local Advisory Committee since 2020.
