Volunteer Fire Fighter

Ever thought of becoming a Fire Fighter in your local area? Want to make a real difference and help in those when they are most in need of help?

Hawke's Bay Fire and Emergency are looking for a range of people to commit to become Volunteer Fire Fighters in your Community.

You will be trained locally before a week of intensive training programme held in Rotorua.

There is an expectation of ongoing training once a week for Volunteers usually on a Monday or Tuesday evening.

Basic skills are taught with further ongoing training to be able to move through the ranks.

Applicants are required to pass a medical and a criminal check is mandatory.

A training schedule is available when inquiring.

Expenses, travel and loss of wages are reimbursed for all courses.

Self-employed applicants are reimbursed dependent on what they earn.

Ongoing. 

Long term commitment required due to extensive training.
