Become a National Fundraising Officer from home – make a real impact

Are you organised, creative and passionate about making a difference?

For more than 50 years, the Samaritans non-religious 24/7 helpline has supported New Zealand, answering over 30,000 calls each year. We are a listening service and provide empathy, support and connection with every call.

We need a volunteer National Fundraising Officer to tell our story, grow support and keep this essential service running.

Key tasks:

✓ Prepare funding applications and reporting
✓ Plan and support fundraising campaigns and events
✓ Build relationships with donors and sponsors
✓ Create engaging content and communications

This flexible, 10 hour per week role can be done from home. It may require some after-hours or weekend work.

A detailed job description can be provided. We are hoping to fill this position by September 2025.

Your work behind the scenes will help keep this vital service running. Do you have what it takes?

✓ Committed 10 hours a week to volunteer from home
✓ Fundraising, admin and marketing experience
✓ Strong writing and communication skills
✓ Proven relationship-building abilities
✓ Confidence using email, Word, Excel and social media
✓ Motivation and the ability to work independently and to deadlines
