Do you enjoy working with children and want to give back to your local community?
The girls from St Augustine's Brownies are looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to join the leadership team.
As a Brownie Unit Co-Leader, you’ll help create a fun, welcoming space where local girls can build confidence, make friends, learn new skills and try new things.
You’ll work alongside an experienced leader to help plan and run weekly Brownie meetings. Activities can include games, crafts, outdoor challenges, badge work, life skills, community projects and plenty of laughter.
You don’t need previous guiding experience. Full training, resources and ongoing support are provided.
This role could suit a parent, grandparent, aunt, teacher, student, retiree, or anyone who enjoys supporting young people and being part of a positive team.
Time commitment
Brownies meet on Monday evenings during the school term, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Leaders usually arrive around 15–20 minutes early to set up and stay for a short time afterwards to pack down. There may also be occasional planning or training sessions, which are shared and flexible.
There are also opportunities to be involved in weekend events or camps, but only if you are available.
Why get involved?
Volunteering with GirlGuiding NZ is a chance to make a real difference for local girls while also building your own skills, confidence and connections. You’ll be part of a supportive organisation that helps girls across Aotearoa grow, lead and thrive.
All volunteers are supported through police vetting, child-safe training, leader training and mentoring.
