Capturing Our Story

The Hawke's Bay Knowledge Bank digitally records written, oral, and pictorial history donated /loaned to us to preserve and digitally store the history.

Everything needs to be captured or photographed, either in a scanner or under the camera. If you can use a photocopier you can do this.

There is a vast array of tasks to be undertaken, not all of them computer-based.

Love photography? We need your eye! We're looking for volunteers to help digitize our extensive collection at Stoneycroft House in Hastings. You'll start by scanning high-resolution images on-site, then move to remote post-processing—cropping and tidying photos on your own schedule. If you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for history, we’d love to have you. We also have openings for proofreaders, researchers, and audio editors. Get in touch today!
