Join our Curtain Bank Team!
We are looking for volunteers to support the Curtain Bank in Onekawa, Napier.
- We need volunteers who can sew, and volunteers who can help sort, measure, and pack orders
- We produce new curtains, as well as up-cycling donated curtains that we re-line before distributing them.
The Curtain Bank is open from 9.30am to 3.00pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.
Role description
Keeping homes warm with appropriate curtains is essential to maintaining health and wellbeing. Our curtain bank volunteers use their skills to help people living in cold houses.
Your Tasks
Your volunteer role will include:
- Collecting donated curtains.
- Sorting and measuring curtains.
- Fixing and altering curtains that need mending.
- Re-lining used curtains.
- Packing and distributing orders.
Volunteer requirements and training
- Sewing skills preferred.
- Training provided
Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW)
- We all have a responsibility for our own and others’ Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) when undertaking activities on behalf of Red Cross.
