Emergency Radio Operator

Our role is role is to provide emergency communications to the Police for Land Search and Rescue and Civil Defence teams.

We do this by providing trained radio operators and technicians to assist. We also provide communication services at public events such as the Hawke's Bay Marathon, Cape Kidnapper's Trail Run, the Triple Peaks Ultra Marathon and the HB Rally.

We're a mixed bunch, aged 22-85 from all over; Germany, Zimbabwe, China, Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

The skill level required is minimal, so whether you're a beginner or have advanced knowledge and experience, we'd love to hear from you!

We offer a full training programme and hold trainings twice a month in both Hastings and Napier.

If radio operation isn't your thing, we also need technically minded people to maintain our kit to support and advise us.  Whatever skill you have, whatever your availability, get in touch - no obligation and let's talk.
