Help Knowledge Bank grow its reach, collections, and community impact.
We are seeking a proactive and organised volunteer to coordinate our external events and outreach activities. This flexible role can be undertaken remotely, on-site at Knowledge Bank, or as a hybrid arrangement.
As our Events & Outreach Coordinator, you will help identify and assess events across Hawke’s Bay and surrounding districts where Knowledge Bank should be represented:
- Community festivals
- Heritage and cultural events
- Agricultural shows and A&P events
- School and tertiary institution events
- Local markets
- Council or civic gatherings
- Historical society meetings
Your focus will be strategic to help us:
- Build our collections
- Raise our public profile and credibility
- Connect us with potential volunteers, donors, and supporters
- Expand awareness of our expertise in preserving regional history
You will:
- Develop and maintain a calendar of community, heritage, and regional events
- Assess which events align with our strategic goals
- Recommend equipment, displays, and handout materials required
- Coordinate volunteers to attend events
- Report to Advisory meetings on outcomes and future opportunities
- Explore opportunities to expand our reach into areas such as Central Hawke’s Bay, Dannevirke, Wairoa, and Woodville
Time Commitment:
Approximately 3–6 hours per month, with additional time during key event periods. This can be worked at home or on site at Knowledge Bank, Stoneycroft, 901 Omahu Rd, Frimley, Hastings (Corner of Omahu Rd and the Expressway)
