Marshals Required for Cycling Events

Marshals are required for our Saturday Cycling events (at least 2-4 per Saturday)

Races Saturdays 2pm until about 3.30-4pm on back roads close to Hastings/Havelock or Napier.

Usually, about 80 riders racing in about 8 grades.

The role is to manage traffic for riders, who need to be stopped for car traffic or waved through.

Instructions will be provided and there is a pre-race meeting that starts about 1.45pm.

Once you are relieved of your marshal duty, you might head back to the sign-on area for mingling, or go to the finish line to cheer on and see the sprint battles to the line.

There are always biscuits and tea afterwards with all the finishers for volunteers to chat with, listen to the race battle stories and the races are on our website
