Newspaper Reading Service Volunteers

The Phone News Hawkes Bay offers a free service for people who are unable to read or hold a newspaper.  We offer daily recordings of the following sections of the paper:

  • Front Page News
  • Today in History
  • Letters to the Editor
  • Family/ Death Notices
  • TV Programmes
  • Feature Article
  • Inspirational Words

Our clients call a toll-free number to hear a recording of their selected item(s) read daily from the Hawkes Bay Today newspaper.

We have a number of established readers and processes in place and we are looking for new readers to keep things running smoothly. 

Other members of The Phone News team will provide additional and ongoing support.
