Join GirlGuiding NZ and help empower young girls aged 5–7 through fun, friendship, and adventure! As a Pippins Leader, you’ll help plan and run weekly sessions that encourage confidence, curiosity, and life skills in a safe and positive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of the leadership team, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging weekly sessions
- Run fun and practical activities — including beginner life skills such as swimming and dog safety awareness
- Support young people to try new things and grow their independence
- Join in on unit adventures like short hikes, themed days, group outings, and (optional) camps
- Be a role model who nurtures confidence, creativity, and teamwork
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need guiding experience — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for supporting young people. Training and resources are provided.
Ideal volunteers will:
- Ideally be 18+, or 16–18-year-olds seeking service experience or working toward a Duke of Edinburgh Award
- Enjoy working with energetic, enthusiastic children
- Be comfortable helping run activities
- Bring a friendly, inclusive approach
- Be willing to undergo a police check (required for all leaders)
- Commit to one hour a week during term time, Mondays 5pm-6pm. Based at Ebbett Park, off Gordon Road, Hastings.
