Playgroup Facilitator

Our Napier Drop in Playgroup provides a safe, fun space for children aged 0 to 4 years old to explore, learn, and grow, as well as a supportive and friendly place for parents to make meaningful social connections. As a volunteer, you will help facilitate play, provide a nurturing environment, and play a key role in building community by engaging with parents and helping them connect with each other. This playgroup runs every Thursday morning from 10am-12pm during term time. Whether you are a parent, a community member, or someone who enjoys supporting others, this is a wonderful opportunity to get involved, create meaningful connections, and help children and parents thrive together.

 

Duties:

- Collaborate with a supportive team to set up engaging activities and materials for the children.

- Engage with parents making them feel welcomed and valued.

- Encourage parents to connect with each other, fostering a sense of community among families.

- Support the children as they engage in play and learning activities, offering guidance and encouragement.

- Assist with set-up before and clean-up after the session.

The type of person we are looking for (is): 

- A warm, approachable attitude and a genuine interest in engaging with both children and parents.

- Ability to work collaboratively, and supportively with the team to create a fun, inclusive environment.

- Enthusiasm for supporting parents and encouraging them to engage with each other and build connections.
