The HB Cancer Society is holding its inaugural indoor Relay for Life on 6 June 2026 and we need you to help on our organising committee !
.As a committee member, you might be involved in:
• Event Planning - Help design the event layout, schedule, and activities
• Fundraising Coordination - Support teams with fundraising ideas and goals
• Sponsorship Outreach - Connect with local businesses and community partners
• Volunteer Recruitment - Help build our wider volunteer team for event day
• Entertainment & Activities - Organize music, speakers, and interactive stations
• Marketing & Promotion - Spread the word through social media, posters, and community networks
• Survivor Support - Coordinate meaningful recognition for cancer survivors
• Logistics - Assist with venue setup, registration, and day-of coordination
• Team Support - Be a point of contact for participating teams
WHAT'S THE TIME COMMITMENT?
• Monthly committee meetings (approximately 2 hours) starting February 2026
• Additional time for your specific committee tasks (flexible, based on your availability)
• Event day involvement in June 2026
• Most work can be done remotely or at times that suit your schedule
We welcome reliable and energetic volunteers with all kinds of backgrounds and experience levels! We have a role for you whether you're:
- A seasoned event planner or complete beginner
- Creative and artistic or organized and detail-oriented
- A people person or prefer behind-the-scenes work
