The Hawke's Bay Knowledge Bank digitally records written, oral, and pictorial history donated /loaned to us to preserve and digitally store the history.
Everything needs to be captured or photographed, either in a scanner or under the camera. If you can use a photocopier you can do this.
There is a vast array of tasks to be undertaken, not all of them computer-based.
Do you enjoy photography? This could be the role for you.
Images, photos and documents are scanned on our high resolution equipment and stored in our database. This work is completed at our base at Stoneycroft House in Hastings.
Once the images are scanned they require post processing such as cropping, straightening and tidying up of photos and documents before they are uploaded to the website.
This part of the process can be done remotely on a standard computer. Attention to detail is a must.
The work is interesting and varied and can be completed at a time that suits you.
Other Volunteer jobs include:
- Proofreading
- Typing/ Word-processing
- Uploading to the website
- Oral recording and editing
- Research in a myriad of fields
If any of these roles interest you, please contact us.
- Basic computer knowledge - full training will be given.
- An interest in restoration and research.
- Enjoy being part of a team.
