Sewers are needed to help in our Onekawa workshop to disassemble and rebuild curtains to be "fit for purpose". These are then gifted to vulnerable members of our community.
We have received a number of curtains that require revamping and sewing, and we have machines waiting to be used.
The task is to recreate the curtains and drapes for homes around the Hawkes Bay in need of extra warmth and privacy.
Join our fun team environment and make a difference to families in need. The key tasks are: sorting, measuring, unlocking, hemming, pressing, pinning, sewing.
Weekly rosters are created by the volunteer coordinator. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Some volunteers stay on a bit later when we get busy with the winter season referrals.
