Here at Te Whakaritorito Trust we work with young people, youth leaders, teachers, parents and volunteers.
We provide creative group activities with youth and children in schools supported by youth mentors that enable the interests and potential of students to be fulfilled.
Examples of group activities are Kapa Haka, Te Ara Ki Te Ao Maori (Journey into the Maori World), Maori Visual Arts, Arts and Crafts, Non-contact Sport and Organic Vegetable Gardening.
Over the past nine years we’ve partnered with over 35 schools in Hawkes Bay where needed.
We facilitate interactive workshops (wananga) for youth mentors, volunteers and community practitioners with such themes as communication skills, emotional awareness facilitation skills, cooperative learning and other areas that meet the needs and aspirations of staff relevant to their work and project development.
We provide occupational coaching for all staff who need to find more part-time work in line with their personal objectives.
We partner with Community Agencies to share resources and learning opportunities that enable us to be more effective in meeting community needs.
