Community Ambassador-Waipukurau

Struggling with reading and writing can deeply affect a person’s confidence, job prospects, finances, and wellbeing — but together, we can change that.

We’re looking for passionate Community Ambassadors to help spread the word about our free literacy services and connect people in need with life-changing support.

As a Community Ambassador, you will:
✅ Represent us in your local area
✅ Raise awareness of our free reading and writing help
✅ Build relationships with local libraries, schools, businesses, community centres, and more
✅ Distribute posters, flyers, and contact cards in places where people gather
✅ Attend local events, expos, volunteer fairs, or community meetings
✅ Advocate for those struggling with literacy and help them find the support they need

We know that 26%  Kiwis struggles with literacy — your mission is to help make sure they know we are here to help.

✅ Friendly, approachable, and comfortable talking to people
✅ Good communication and relationship-building skills
✅ Reliable and able to follow through on commitments
✅ Comfortable working independently and managing your own time
✅ Basic computer or smartphone skills (to send monthly updates)
✅ Familiarity with your local community and networks (a plus, but not required)

No prior experience is needed — we provide full training and ongoing support.
All you need is enthusiasm, empathy, and a willingness to help people find the support they need.
