The Trust engages a facility manager to deliver the aquatic services to the community. Dolphin Academy was appointed as the facility manager after a competitive supplier selection process in 2020. Dolphin Academy manages the delivery of the water safety skills programmes for five local schools, delivers learn to swim classes, hires the pool space to regular hirers like Greendale Swim Club and Westshore Surf Life Saving Club, and provides opportunities for school swim sports, professional development workshops taken by Swimming NZ and NZ Coast guard. All booking enquiries are to be directed to Dolphin Academy.
The purpose of the Trust will be to:
3.1. Perform the Asset Custodian role of the Taradale Community Pool community swimming pool facility, located in Taradale that benefits the water safety educational journey of children and the facilitates the access to aquatic sports activities for the wider Taradale community.
In particular, the Trust will:
3.1.1. maintain the building and plant for the purposes of water safety skills and swimming provision;
3.1.2. provide governance for the management of the facility and the aquatic services delivery that occurs within; and
3.1.3. provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose.
