What we exist for:
Predator Free Napier Hill (Mataruahou) is a volunteer community effort to rid Napier Hill of introduced pests and provide a safe habitat for native birds in our gardens and reserves. Our neighbourhood was eradicated of possum thanks to a programme run by HBRC/Landcare and the community in 2008 -2014, and we know with energy from our community we can work towards the Aotearoa goal of Predator free 2050.
Our goal is to bring bird song to Mataruahou, have 1 in 5 households actively trapping and trap lines in all our Parks, Schools and Reserves.
